Travel Update: Looking forward to May

78_mayTravelWell I’m pretty stoked. I’m almost settled in my new place, I’m back into my healthy eating/exercise routine, I get to play with some fun new tech at work, and in less than four weeks I’m headed back out into the world for another adventure! This time I’m headed to Morocco and Spain.

I am extra excited for Morocco because it will be my first time setting foot in Africa. I’m going with a friend and will be there for 12 days with plans to stop in Casablanca, Fes, Marakkech, maybe a day or two in the Sahara, and Tangier, where we’ll take a ferry to Gibraltar then head over to Spain. Another 12 days of travel will see us through Malaga, Granada, Madrid, and finally Barcelona before we fly back home.

I am looking forward to the sights, sounds and smells in the souks, camel trekking, sandboarding and stargazing in the Sahara, all of the Moroccon cuisine, getting scrubbed clean in a hammam and drinking all the mint tea I can stomach. And in Spain, mostly fun in the sun and checking out the historical sights Barcelona and Madrid have to offer.

Our itinerary is still up in the air, but I suspect it will go something like this:

  • fly in to Morocco
  • shop in the souks
  • eat all the food
  • see all the things
  • camels?
  • take a ferry to Spain
  • more eating
  • more seeing
  • maybe some doing
  • museum-ing
  • a lot of relaxing
  • fly home

Now that the majority of that planning is done and my life isn’t all over the place, I’m going to try to post here more regularly. A lot has been going on since my move and I’ve had a bunch of ideas for future posts. I can’t wait to share them here in the near future!
