My summer bucket list

19_summerBucketListHeaderSummer is the perfect time to try new things. Or just do things in general as the weather is nice and it’s not snowing in Toronto anymore (hooray!). I don’t know about you, but I tend to want to do silly things that remind me of summers from my youth, mainly because life was so simple back then! Now that I have a job, rent and other responsibilities there isn’t as much time to kick around and be lazy and summers generally aren’t as fun because a lot of that time is spent inside at work. Boo, adult life sucks sometimes.

Anyway, summer officially begins tomorrow! I’d like to make the most of this season, so I made a not-so-fancy list of things I’m going to try my best to accomplish before it’s over and the leaves start falling again.

Without further ado, here’s my list:

  • have a BBQ on Toronto Island
  • picnic on the beach
  • write more (not just on this blog, I mean creative writing in general)
  • try slacklining [Woot! Already tried this before I knew what it was!]
  • make lemonade. Boozy lemonade. (Life has given me a lot of lemons lately, and when life gives you lemons…)
  • get to work designing that game I’ve put on hold for, like, EVER
  • take a weekend trip to NYC
  • do absolutely nothing for a whole day
  • read Game of Thrones
  • check out Electric Island TO
  • run through a sprinkler
  • go stargazing
  • build an app using Swift (yep, I’m a nerd. It’s part of my job description 😉
  • sign up for kickboxing classes
  • make a blanket fort
  • for the love of God, organize my closet
  • settle on a design for this blog and just do it!
  • make s’mores over a campfire
  • plan an epic overseas adventure for 2015
  • grow out my bangs (This one is kinda… half on the list. I’m still undecided but thought I’d put it here for reference at the very least)

I might add more when I think of them. So what’s on your list this summer?
