It was a long, busy week. That ended up revolving around food and drinks for the most part. A coworker had her last day with the company, so we had a send-off for her. I made cupcakes in her honour. A couple days later we celebrated The Boy’s birthday with tacos. And I made more cupcakes. This was fine by me because I love baking them!
Both recipes were (just a little… okay a lot) boozy. The first were margarita-flavoured with some tequila, a lot of lime and little salt. The second was my interpretation of a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, aka Black Forest cake — the German version in which both the cherries and cake are typically soaked in a cherry liqueur. Or maybe it was just one or the other. I ended up doing both because I forgot. I may have also soaked the cherries for a little too long because they ended up being really strong. Like, vodka gummy bear kinda strong. Not that it stopped anyone from eating them!
